Guest guest
Hi all. Had my surgery on Tuesday the 24th. Things went relatively well. When I woke up I was so nauseated I had to make numerous deals with God to keep from throwing up. I was in and out of sleep for the whole first day, and up (and out) on the second day. I still have a tender feeling under my left breast (this is -I think-where my stomach pouch is). It's a little uncomfortable to take a full breath at times, and REALLY uncomfortable if I cough or hiccup. I haven't found a comfortable sleeping position (I'm used to sleeping on my stomach) but I know that'll get better in a few days. I haven't been hungry at all--in fact, it's been hard to get in a whole cup of yogurt in one day (haven't done it yet). My only complaint is that I am incredibly thirsty all the time. I can go without food, but I am dreaming about drinking a full glass of something cold. I've used ice chips (and even swished cold water in my mouth and spit it back out) but nothing seems to satisfy my thirst. Other than that, things are great. I was 263 pre-op, and weighed in today at 244! Not bad, huh? I know that it will slow down very soon, and that it was all probably water, but at least that's 19 pounds I won't see again! I'd love to hear any tips from all you veterans!
