I found the BESt thing to do in telling your PCP that you want the surgery,

is to make an extra copy of the patient manual, and drop it off a week or 2

before your visit. Also, ask your Dr...or the nurse, to check out the

website, if they have any questions. I did this, and when I went in for my

'check up' he and his nurse were fully aware of the proceedure, the stats,

etc. My family doc wasn't ever going to give me Phen/fen.....but he was all

for this. My husband is a family physician, and has already referred 3

patients to Dr R. My husband understand what it is like to have to live with

someone who obesity.....so he can truely connect. It's like going to a family

physician or a pediatrition who doesn't have children....and you ask them

about a family problem, or a behavior problem......they don't have a clue. A

family physician or ob-gyn who has dealth with people with weight problems

are the ones to go to.

But do print out the patient info first....I think this opened the doors for

me!

Take care!
