Guest guest
The pharmacy can take the prescription even from an out of state Doctor. Dr. Rutledge just phoned mine in for me. Get the number of the pharmacy, call the pharmacist ahead of time and confirm that they will take the prescription from your doctor over the phone (they will), then contact Dr. Rutledge's office for him to phone in your prescriptions ahead of time. Easy as pie. The post-op prescriptions are on the d/c (discharge instructions) page at http://www.clos.net/dcinstructions.htm. Be sure none of these prescriptions are anything to which you are allergic. Regarding pain medication, the discharge page has a couple of errors. He is now prescribing Vicodin, not Propoxyphene, for pain. Vicodin is a combination of acetaminaphen (Tylenol) and a synthetic, codeine-like substance, hydrocodone, so if you are allergic to either tylenal or codeine, you may be allergic to Vicodin. Also on the discharge page, even regarding Propoxyphene, it has a typo that says " You should not use Propoxyphene if you are sensitive to either Propoxyphene. " (it doesn't give the either/or after " Propoxyphene, " it just ends). If you are allergic, be sure and let Dr. R. know so he can prescribe something else. > If you are from out of state and have a prescription plan, how do > you get the drugs that are necessary after surgery?
