Guest guest
I had my MGB done on March 27th of this year and have done very well. Howver, night before last I awoke at 4:00 a.m. with a massive nose bleed (I've never had a nosebleed before in my life). It was bleeding so freely that when I tried to apply pressure and ice to it, it continued to run down my throat and even began running out the tear ducts of my eyes. My husband called an ambulance and when the EMT on the ambulance tried to start an IV on me she failed twice. At the hospial ER, she told the doctor that there seemed to be an excessive amount of bleeding when she stuck me. They finally got the bleeding stopped. They estimated that I had probably lost about a pint of blood, but all they did for me was get the bleeding stopped and send me home. My question is this. Has anyone experienced anything like this after gastric by-pass surgery and if so have their doctors discovered the cause? I have never had problems in the past with being a " free-bleeder " and was wondering if the change in my diet might be causing this. I take my vitamins faithfully three times a day. If anyone has had a similar problem I would appreciate your imput. Thanks
