Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Kim called me this morning and it was so great to hear her voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll tell you what all she said: She said the gas pain was pretty rough yesterday for a few hours and they wouldn't give her the pain pump, but finally gave her a morphine shot that pretty much kept her pain down for quite a while. She sounded a little hoarse I guess from the tube in her throat during surgery. She said she thought she only had 5 port holes instead of the 6 some people get, she has had 3 cesareans sections so I guess with scar tissue she thought she might get 6. She said they had brought her broth, jello, tea, coffee and juice. (I didn't think we were supposed to get coffee) She said she sipped the juice, had a little of the broth and a bite of the jello and it was fine. She said she has not been nauseous at all, that the only thing so far was they gave her some ice water and she said when she sipped it that her new tummy felt like it cramped some, so I told her that she should stay away from really cold or really hot liquids for a while. Dr. Rutledge came in at that time and she had to go so that was all the info I have so far. Oh yes they told her she could probably leave at noon and she was trying to decide whether to come on home (we live about 3.1/2 hrs. from Durham) or spend one night down there, she's supposed to call me back and let me know. As I receive more info from her I will pass it along. I want to thank all of you for your prayers and I'm so grateful that she's OK, she is just one of the sweetest, kindest people I've ever known, she makes me try to be a better person just being around her. So again thanks!!!!!!! Wanting to be on the other side, Cathy in Lenoir, NC Patient Info Emailed on 5/2/00 BMI 42 " A Journey Of A Thousand Miles Begins With A Single Step!
