Guest guest
, I'm happy to hear you're making changes in your life for the better and for your health. I know it's tough to work for someone who is demanding and moody; I'm sure it's especially hard when it's your father. With your background in nursing, pharm. rep. should be a good fit for you. Have you found anything yet? It's too bad your husband doesn't get any benefits from his job. Actually mine can't work anymore, he's on soc. sec. disability for the last six yrs. so I support us and have the benefits. Fortunately he's a veteran, so he's getting his medical care now from the VA in Atlanta. I will put him on my insurance when I land a job. I had two interviews today, both in Atlanta, which is a really spread out town, so the first one was about 34 miles, mostly expressways, and the second was a little further past the first, actually 37 miles from home, using the same expressways. They're both in the same field, mortgage loan closer, in the " sub-prime " lending catagory. That means, they grade loans based on the borrowers' credit history, " A " being the best, (generally FHA, VA, and conventional loans fall in this group, " B " , " C " , " D " , and sometimes " E " being progressively worse credit with lots of late payments, judgements, collections, bankruptcies, repos, etc., which of course are considered higher risk loans. I have almost always worked in the " A " catagory, closing mostly FHA, VA and Conventional " prime " loans, so that is where I shine, so to speak. I did close B, C, D, etc., for about a year 2 yrs. ago, so I know what's involved. I was hoping to land a position where my FHA & VA experience would be an asset, but, since so many people have " not so good " credit these days, the sub-prime market is really booming. Both these companies are two yrs. old and business is GREAT, so they tell me. Both interviews seemed to go well, one with a woman about 30, slim as can be, very nice, better money, more like the closing process I'm used to, closer (by 3 miles), hours 8:30-5:00; the other with a man 35-40, very nice also, hours 12-8 (so I could avoid the terrible Atlanta rush-hour traffic & I'm not a morning person, although I hope that will change with losing the weight). Both are interviewing other people, of course, and won't make a decision for about 2 weeks, they said. I, of course, hope to hear sooner. I was sort of spoiled in Chicago, my last few jobs were only 10 miles from home, but I really want to get my foot in the door somewhere in Atlanta and get this MGB done, so I can feel better and look better. Then I can always look for something closer to home in a year or so. Both have standard benefits: one is Prudential Ins. (you can choose HMO or POS), the other has Premier (which I never heard of), but is looking to change to someone better in the choices of doctors, possibly to Allstate, shortly. Anyway, that's the story of my interviews (IF ANYONE IS STILL WITH ME HERE). If they want to see me again, I'll have to go buy another outfit to wear. Thanks, all, for your prayers, interest, and interview tips. I'll let you all know if I hear anything further. Love, P. in Ga
