Get this: When my pcp was giving me my pre-op physical after my ekg, you

know when you are wearing that cute little paper vest? He looks and me and

says: You know you are definitely going to need a breast reduction after you

loose all that weight. I guess we should now start a onelist for cosmetic

surgery due to the MGB.

When I asked one of my contacts about loose skin she said " Honey, I

am a 42 long " . She told me she made a big mistake and didn't

exercise at all for several months after the surgery. She hopes she

will tone up now that she has started to. I got a good laugh from

this.

My mother-in-love suggested an underwire,I said That would be like a diving

board for them! I don't need a breast reduction(they're gone!) Just a skin

lift! Great problem though I really hide from my hubby now! I thought that

would change post-op! Oh,well......

Hi Guys: The other night when we had our dinner with pre and post ops, I

got the real skinny on the skin thing. The answer is simply, some folks will

tighten up, some will tighten up some and some will have hanging skin. I

believe I will be in the hanging skin club and do not plan to have any

surgical remedies.

Rexanne looks wonderful. She is very tight, had on a fairly short skirt and

her arms and legs make her appear as a person who has never had a weight

problem. I would describe her as a sexy woman. I am of the frump category

and I admire her look! Yet I saw her " fat picture " and she was indeed a

very heavy person.

She has a regular skin regimen that she uses. She can fill you in on what if

any exercise she does. I think Rexanne just has good skin. There were others

who were going to have some loose skin but not bad and still others like me

for whom tight skin isn't even a thought...it's just not going to happen. I

wish I wasn't one but I am. I'm 57 and have been overweight since I was 7 or

8 years old and even though I'm " all filled out " now, I still have a lot of

loose skin. My family gave me a great heart and lungs, and many other health

blessings but they gave me lousy hair and lousy skin. I can live with loose

skin as long as I get to live longer and I believe I have the best chance of

that as a thinner person. No Barbie illusions here but if Barbie is what you

want...hey gang...life is short, you gotta go for what you want out of life.

It's not a dress rehearsal...this is the only one we get.

Everyone you talk to will offer you a different answer because there are as

many answers as their are patients. I do, however, plan to check back with

Rexanne and to follow what she is doing..it won't make me look like her but

it may make my loose skin better than it would be if I did nothing. And it

sure won't hurt anything to pamper myself a little. Heaven knows that's a

unique concept.

This surgery is not a panacea. This is not a complete cure. This is a hefty

tool. I couldn't do it without the help this surgery will now give me. Some

can, some can't. I'm realistic. At 57, I want the years I have left to be

ones in which I can walk and not have to survey every chair before I sit.

I'm not glad but I'm ok with the loose skin I'm going to have. But if you

aren't going to be satisfied, there are surgical remedies to take care of

that! Go get 'em! Life is short...enjoy the hell out of it!
