Guest guest
I wish I could contact the people that agreed to participate in the skit and slap them silly! I will also send an e-mail and voice my disgust; thanks for the info on where to go. I would like to know if you get to see it and what you think of it. I hope you are doing well and I would like to hear an update on you too!!!! We are all here to support and cheer each other on and I know you are doing excellent!!!! Keep in touch! > - > I am on the West Coast so won't see SNL for a while - didn't plan on watching, but may tape it to see the skit you referred to. > Then, I will go to www.nbc..com and under email, they have a breakdown of shows with links to the individual email. I will send one directly to SNL and one to the network. It is so sickening and frustrating that they can still getaway with this. But in this day of email, I always try to respond to discrimination in their face !!! > Hopefully, others from this list will do the same. SNL probably won't care, but I won't sit back anymore. > BTW, I'm not sure if it made national news, but the city of San Francisco passed an ordinance last week making it illegal to discriminate against anyone based on weight or height. Now to see how they handle actual cases!!! > Now I need to get off my soapbox or I will really start venting, and I haven't even seen the show yet....(LOL) > Shari/No Calif > ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!! > > > Okay, I am sitting here reading all of your wonderful postings and I > have the TV on. Saturday Night Live is on and they just did a spoof > of the GAP commercial, the one that is like the musical West Side > Story where the denims rumble against the khakis? They had the same > dance and everything but with OBESE people doing the dances. This > really bothers me!! The ending was " when you're a XXXL...GAP FAT " . > Why is this the last acceptable discrimination?? I can't believe > these heavy people would humiliate themselves and stoop to this > level. How degrading! This is why so many " normal " people, old and > young alike, think it is okay to say things, derrogatory remarks to > those of us who are large. I am getting ready to surgically alter > myself so I can be closer to the norm; I think all those jerks should > have to have frontal lobotomies!! Oops, too late; someone got them > already! Thanks, I needed to vent... > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- > This message is from the Mini-Gastric Bypass Mailing List at Onelist.com > Please visit our web site at http://clos.net > Get the Patient Manual at http://clos.net/get_patient_manual.htm > > > > >
