Hi Everyone, this is my first post:

We are on day 4 of the diet with our 3 year old with ASD. As each

day goes by, he is refusing more foods, won't eat eggs any more,

won't eat chicken, scd muffins or pancakes, etc. I've been cooking

all weekend trying different recipes to no avail. He is surviving

on just peanut butter today so far. At least yesterday he drank a

little juice and ate some frozen blueberries and chicken sausage.

He has had 2 instances of vomiting this weekend after eating eggs

and something else (can't remember what else set off the vomiting)

and then drinking a lot of water. I think he is nauseated, and I'm

worried that his weight is dropping. He has lost about 2 pounds so

far. He had no BM on day one, and one each day so far. I should

mention that he has been a progressively picky eater in the past

year, and has been self limiting to mostly refined starches, cereal,

etc. What's really interesting is that he is in a great mood.

Yesterday he was lethargic and tired after a bad night's sleep, but

today he is his normal happy self.

I guess my question is, how long do you wait out the hunger

striike? How many days does it take for the kids to start craving

more of a variety of foods? I've also tried gelatin, meatballs, and

kidney beans (normally his favorite). He refuses almost all foods I

offer.

If anyone has advice to offer, I'd really appreciate it!

Sue (mom to age 3 year 4 months, SCD 4 days)
