Hi, I am new here, so here is my story. I'm 47 I had silicone implants put in @

1989. Now that they are over 20 years old I am getting very worried. I knew this

day would come. I have only had 2 mammograms since the age of 40 the first one

in 2004 it came back fine, they also told me that it would show if they were

leaking and they told me they were not. (I have since read that the only way to

tell for sure if they are leaking is with a MRI, I have no idea what to

believe???) All is good.....except for the fact that I have been having a lot of

health issues that can't be explained. Joint pain, xrays show no arthritis,

fatigue, sleep disorders, hair loss, etc. I just read about all the health

symptoms of silicone in the body and it has me really worried. I just had a

second mammogram done last week, I figured I was past due since it had been

almost 5 years snice my last one. I get the dreaded call that they found nodules

and want me to come back for a diagnostic mammogram with ultra sound, ok.... I

am dealing with that but I read that mammograms can cause the implants to

rupture as well so that scares me especially since they are so old. I am going

in today for these tests and hopefuly I will find out more. I have no idea what

to do next. I want to know if they are leaking and I really want them out since

they are so old even if they are not leaking yet. Do I just start calling

Doctors asking if they do Explants? Do most insurance companies cover this? I

ahve so many questions. I am so glad I found this site! Thank you so much!
