Dear Group:

After reading hundreds of your E-Mails, I would

like to add my name to your wonderful group, waiting

and hoping for weight loss surgery.

My name is Judi Muckerheide from North Redington

Beach Florida (near Clearwater). I am a 51 year old

nurse with a wonderful and supportive husband and 4

grown and supportive children.

I have heard the cruel comments, " if it doesn't go

in....it won't go on! " ; splint your elbows and you'll

be thin, and it must be some psychological problem

that's causing your obesity. I've heard all ... too

often.

I'm fortunate in one respect because I have been

on both sides of the weight loss spectrum. I was a

thin flight attendant for years, and a model. Then I

quit smoking and at the same time genetics kicked in

and the weight came on, and on, and on. I have done

Medifast 2 times (65 lbs each time),Nutra-System 3

times, Weight Watchers 4 times, Craig 1 time,

Phen Fen, Redux, , Atkins, Fit for Life,

The Zone, and I could go on, but currently BMI at 40.

But I know that you have all been there and done that.

Sometimes I think God gave me this cross to bear, so I

would be more compassionate, loving, and

understanding. Just compare chat groups, between thin

individuals and overweight individuals. I read your E-

Mails and you all have so very much love and support,

and compassion for each other and it's very moving.

I do know deep in myself, if Dr. R. can do my

surgery, and I do become thin, I will always carry with

me the lessons I have learned along the way, and my

heart will always be open to those who need someone to

lean on, a shoulder to cry on, or just an ear to listen.

I have done all my research and I know my

insurance pays for WLS, but for Dr. R., I'm not sure

about. But I know I will only have him do the

surgery. I know after working with 156 doctors and

surgeons, I want Dr. R. who does the surgery all the

time, not some doctor that does it some of the time.

I'm so happy for those of you that have had your

surgery and are doing well. And my prayers are with

all of those still waiting and hoping for your day in

the operating room as I am. And finally my heart is

with those as that lost the battle. Having

worked in Oncology, I know that whether it's the battle

of cancer, or weight loss, some battles are won and

some are lost, but those that we lose always leave

footprints on our hearts, that make us stronger, and

renew our strength for the fight, so we have not lost

these individuals in vane.

Thank You for letting me introduce myself, and how

I have felt reading your E-Mails.

Sincerely,

Judi Muckerheide
