Supplements and changes

I started to take all my supplements again after reading Suzanne Somers

book " Knockout " and another book on Dr. Linus ing's vitamin C

therapy. I have seen some interesting changes that have occurred since

starting them all. What is obvious is that my body has really been

lacking in nutrients, because I have never had such obvious changes from

taking supplements before.

Usually in the past when I took supplements, I really couldn't tell any

difference in my overall health, and mostly took them as a preventative

insurance. There are only a couple of supplements that I really

reacted in a negative manner to, such as B complex vitamin pills, which

made me feel sick, or calcium supplements which also made me feel icky.

Vitamin B12 gave me energy, and of course, Thyroid meds helped with

fatigue. I got lazy with my thyroid meds and neglected them for a

couple of months.

For several months I've added in nutritional yeast for the B vitamins

and have had no negative reaction to those. I started Vit C as ascorbic

acid in large doses and was really excited about that...it made a big

difference in my dental health. Then I added in more herbs, such as

cayenne, tumeric, and other supplements, such as biotin for my hair,

pregnenolone for the hormone precursors, and melatonin for good sleep.

I added in some progesterone cream for a couple of nights.

In the last couple of weeks, I've noticed more brain fog! (Ick!!!! I

can't believe it!) And today I started a period!!!! I'm menopausal, and

haven't had a regular period for a couple of years! I can't remember

the last time I actually had a period. I'm frankly quite shocked. Of

course, the other concern is if this is really a period or something

more sinister that needs to be checked out.

So, obviously the added supplements are making a huge difference. I

just have to decide if they are good differences, and if I can live

with the brain fog?

I think I need to go back to using nothing and then add the supplements

in one at a time to see what is doing what. It's pretty interesting,

though, to realize that supplements have an effect on my body that is

significant. I think the older we are, the more important they become.

I'll keep you posted.

gg,

I used nutritional yeast long before I started the other supplements and never

had any issues with it. I only started getting a little brain fog when I added

in the large doses of Ascorbic Acid (Vit C) with the L-Lysine. I've cut out the

l-lysine and I think that might have been an issue, but still not sure...will

keep trying to track it!
