Wondering what I should do?

Hi there,

My son has been SCD for a little over 5 mos now. His stools are

really the only change that I have noticed with SCD, which I know is

BIG. He is having formed stools, although they may be green tinged

sometimes. The dark circles under his eyes went away but have now

returned. His appetite has gone way down the past 2 weeks and he

doesn't want to eat but one thing (chicken salad) or anything mixed

with fruit (ie eggs and pear or banana). The past two weeks he has

slowly started to regress (ie script, tantrum, edgy, constipated, and

echo). I am concerned because he use to be a great eater, but now I

pretty much have to force him to eat even his favorites (except

breakfast of egg and banana). He is always asking for bananna.

Is it possible his body may need the grains to be healthy? He just

doesn't look healthy (pale and dark circles). I don't want to give

up on the diet and will only do what is best for him, but I am

wondering if you don't see changes by now...... if it is something I

should consider or not? I don't want to confuse him by allowing

grains and then taking them away because his stools go to mush again.

I am also wondering if anyone has noticed that there is less stool

once the stool is formed? My son is still in diapers but he use to

fill that thing up and now it's a formed ball in there so it seems

like less. I know he has been constipated, can this cause him to not

eat well? He has been drinking a ton and I have been loading him up

with magnesium to get him to go and he did today (still formed, but

not pebbly).

Thanks for any advice in advance,

Darci
