Dear Cathy,

You are exactly right. Being overweight is a double

edge sword. It's not bad enough we beat ourselves

up for the way our bodies look, we accept the fact

right or wrong, that we did this to our bodies. But

then we have other people thinking the same thing

about us. I was not joking when I told the group

I was told (by a Dr in Ill.)to splint my elbows and I

would lose weight. He said " If it does'nt go IN,

it can't go ON " .....it takes willpower, dear.

Well, lets see. I quit smoking (2packs a day) over 12

years ago, I am going for my Degree in Nursing with

a 3.785 GPA, I have successfully lost about 300 lbs

in the past 7-8 yrs. I have a great marriage of 29

years and have 4 great kids.. Am I committed YES

Do I have willpower. Yes THEN why am I 265Lbs

............because I need help.....I cant do

it alone by myself any more..........and that is why

I love this group. THEY KNOW. THEY CARE. THEY

REMEMBER WHAT THE FIGHT WAS LIKE. THEY WILL HELP

and if they can't help they will stand next to me,

and if they can't do that they will pray for me.

...........and I will be there for them every step of

the way also.
