I came across this article and thought it was interesting concerning we use

sauerkraut in our diet... " Sauerkraut Could Fight Bird Flu " at

www.vaccinationnews.com

It must be the bacteria in the sauerkraut kill the bacteria in the bird flu?

When can sauerkraut be started and do you make it yourself? Please tell me all

the details about it. Thanks in advance. Jenn & Kali 95% scd 6 months

My children have been on SCD for almost 3 years. I

fermented some cabbage this fall and we started eating it

last week. We each have about a tablespoon once a day. My

sons complain of stomach aches, constipation, and smelly (of

sauerkraut) stools. Could this be die-off or did I not make

the sauerkraut properly? It tastes ok, but the mold and

liquid I threw away before getting down to the " good stuff "

was nasty. The two that complain the most are the ones with

the most continuing stool problems. Thanks for any insight.

If it was me, I'd probably throw it away. I would never eat anything with

mold on any part of it, since I would assume that there was lots of mold

that I couldn't see if there was even a little that I could see.

I fermented some cabbage a couple years ago, and it was nothing like what

you describe. It didn't smell or look bad, had no mold on it, no nastiness

whatsoever. Just very tart.

I made it according to the recipe in the Body Ecology Diet. I didn't use a

starter, since cabbage serves as its own starter. It was basically just

washed and chopped cabbage.

Just my thoughts,
