Guest guest
..You had mentioned you're curious as to why no stats are given for the 5 year post ops. Dr. Rutledge only requires us to stay in touch for a year then after that we're on our own so to speak. I know for myself I'm only a month post op and I have a heck of a time keeping up with emails to him. I generally don't bother him everyday, just a few emails here and there to update and ask questions. I have spoken to one lady that is 3 years post op and shes doing great...All I can recall is her name is Lynn from Cleveland. Shes still maintaining her weight loss and ofcourse can barely eat. The one thing that you mentioned in your decision was that the RNY Dr. did a case per case decision on how much bowel to remove..distal versus proximal? Isn't that what Dr. R also does? I was under the impression he did, since I weigh considerably more then his average 300 pound patient needing to lose 140 lbs in 12 months, I would think he would have removed more then the typical 6 ft. Who knows..guess thats a question for the Good Doctor. Anyway, enough rambling for now...I enjoyed your posting very much, it was one that was informative! 4 weeks post op as of May 9 ... lost 39 pounds Make a great day Losers!!!
