Guest guest
I think that its important that when kids are young they get into a routine of their treatments so that when puberty rears its UGLY head we don't have as much too battle. I am going out of my mind with my 12 yr. daughter. She is so so dramatic..... " you don't know what its like having CF.......I wish I was dead rather than having CF and doing treatments " ......with her hand on her forehead! Needless to say, she is in counseling and I am drinking LOL...... Puberty is hard enough but through in CF and its complicated. I pray its only this way with girls. I have 2 boys and if I have to go through this again heads (or lungs) will roll. My 9 yr. asked me last night for new lungs. This way his CF would be gone...I had to explain transplants to him. I believe kids should know as much as you feel they are capable of in their terms. (i.e. the pulmoyzme is to thin the mucous, vest to loosen, tobi is to kill the bacteria - which are the bad guys)...... My spelling sucked but you got the gist of it... Find out what information kids looking for .....before giving them too much information that they don't want or are ready for......... Rosemary in New York with 3 children with CF - they are 12, 9.8, 5.9...I coined the phrase " BREATHE DAMMIT " ; and now we have a dog named - are you ready for this - TOBI after their medication!
