Guest guest
I have been taking this antihistamine for a while for migraine prevention. I think it is making me flush more because it has calcium channel blocking properties. I cannot be sure of this, because I kno0w that it is used to treat alot of flushing conditions. Does anyone know if this can contribute. My ehyes are very bad right now. Thanks, Mike
Guest guest
,I took Periactin over 15 yrs ago for allergies. Had r then. It made me so tired, and seemed to push my nasal allergies down into my chest. Imitrex taken immediately upon sensing a migraine in the am, always averted one. As did the earlier med--cafrergot. Nothing topical nor internal like a Beta blocker has stopped my redness and tendency for my sensitive skin to sunburn. My best bet is sunblock--like Sy's Non-Chemical Sunscreen, or Clinique's Sunblock or the widely available Solar Sense which is sold in CVS or Rite Aids and which is mostly Titanium dioxide. I would recommend a newer, non sedating AH like Allegra or Zytrec. Or try the newest formulation--Astelin--traditional antihistamine in a Nasal Spray formulation. I have never seen on the Migraine Newsgroup anyone using Cyproheptadine as a migraine preventative. But hey, YMMV.
