Guest guest
Hi, a, How long did you have the implant and did you have any problems prior to removal? I heard that the textured ones are more difficult to remove and that's probably why the doctor could not remove all the capsules. Try acupuncture. It is very effective in getting rid of pain even fibromyalgia. I had very dry and painful eyes and it was unbearable, I am not sure if it was due to my implant, probably was, but I got acupuncture and it got rid of it. Acupuncture cannot get rid of bacteria and fungus, but it can lessen your unbearable pain. You need to find an experienced acupuncturist. It will also help you with all other problems that you may be having including post-surgery difficulties. After trauma like surgery your circulation is impeded and acupuncture improves this. Also, when you lose lot of blood from surgery you may get lot of pain around the eyes. Are you anemic? Acupuncture does wonders, just try it and it may help you. You need to try at least 5 acupuncture sessions for the pain to start to go away. If the acupuncturist is good he may even lesson your pain in few sessions. When I started to get sick all over acupuncture was the only thing that helped. I went to so many doctors and none of them helped. Acupuncture is natural method there is no drugs and no side effects. It is not painful. Try acupuncture + moxa to warm your body for circulation. Guest guest
Hi a, I'm glad to hear you have been through explant, and that you saw Dr. Melmed, who seems to be a very good doctor. I have heard that he does not always remove all of the capsule for women with saline implants, and that is a concern. For peace of mind, it is just much better to have all of it gone, as you have found out. With that partial capsule remaining, it will always be a question in your mind as to whether or not you could get better without it. So, in that regard, you may want to consider removal of that scar tissue. That will give you the peace of mind in knowing that it is finally and fully gone. As for the burning pain, that is a symptom we have seen in quite a few women. It is very hard to say if it is fibromyalgia (it could be) or bacterial infection (it could be), but it could also be a combination of things. The most frustrating thing about breast implant illness is that it is so hard to pinpoint our specific cures. Different women have gotten better with different approaches, but the most prevalent aspect of healing is our need for removing offending substances from our body and rebuilding health with good nutrition. That is why we focus on detoxing, and then a healthy diet. Often hormones need to be replaced, such as thyroid, or the reproductive hormones which are out of whack. One big issue I see from your letter is all the drugs you are on. Neurontin itself is a big problem. I would recommend that you do some research in our archives for the posts by Rogene, where she brought to our attention the penalty the manufacturers had to pay for selling that drug, and the fact that it depletes magnesium. Magnesium deficiency is a HUGE problem for Neurontin users, but it is never addressed by the doctors. I myself believe personally that drugs hinder our ability to get better, rather than help. They add a toxic burden to the liver, which is already trying to clear our bodies of toxicity from bacteria, fungus and whatever chemicals we are exposed to. If you can make the effort to get off the drugs, I think that would be a good thing. You may need to find a naturopathic doctor to help you through that process. There are answers...other women have suffered through similar experiences and have written about them on the group. If you have time to research our archives, I would suggest it, to see what they have done. I myself have not had this kind of pain, but I did suffer through the worst of implant illness and have lived a good life, which I wish for you as well. WE will keep searching for the answers with you. Patty > > Hello everyone, > I am new to this website so I hope I am sending this correctly. I am desperately looking for ideas, thoughts, answers. Guest guest
Hi gg, Yes, Neurontin is a prescription drug. Not sure what neuromins is? I think these are two different things. I know Rogene used to tell people to get off neurontin all the time when she was posting here. Patty > > > > Hello everyone, > > I am new to this website so I hope I am sending this correctly. Guest guest
Good morning, a: Welcome to this wonderful group of women, and we will help you to get through this. I am concerned about the Texturized Shells; however, I am not a doctor. "The impetus to texturize the surface of the solid silicone shell followed the research on the polyurethane-coated implants that showed less organized and less dense collagen around rough-textured silicone implants. Small, prospective, controlled studies have demonstrated a decrease in clinical contracture rates with these shells, but not all studies agree. Despite the ongoing controversy, most surgeons today use textured shell saline-filled implants." I have quoted the above information from a book that I have, but because your implants were texturized that could be a problem. I had the Polyurethane Silicone Gel Implants after my smooth-shellled silicone implants ruptured after two years. Honey, Celebrex and Neurontin could be causing some of your problems, but, once again, I am not a doctor. My ruptured implants were removed in 1992; however, I still have the capsules from the first and second set of implants in me. The plastic surgeon had to remove my left breast because he found a large seroma in it. In my case, we think that the garbage left in me could be causing my severe health problems. We have several good plastic surgeons listed in the archives of our group, and it might be a good idea to get a second opinion from one of them. Good luck, and you will never be alone again...love always....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~```````````` New to this Support Group-Dry burning eyes -Skin on my chest area/arms BURNING-feels like it’s been ripped off Hello everyone, I am new to this website so I hope I am sending this correctly.
