Hi, a,

How long did you have the implant and did you have any problems prior to removal? I heard that the textured ones are more difficult to remove and that's probably why the doctor could not remove all the capsules. Try acupuncture. It is very effective in getting rid of pain even fibromyalgia. I had very dry and painful eyes and it was unbearable, I am not sure if it was due to my implant, probably was, but I got acupuncture and it got rid of it. Acupuncture cannot get rid of bacteria and fungus, but it can lessen your unbearable pain. You need to find an experienced acupuncturist. It will also help you with all other problems that you may be having including post-surgery difficulties. After trauma like surgery your circulation is impeded and acupuncture improves this. Also, when you lose lot of blood from surgery you may get lot of pain around the eyes. Are you anemic? Acupuncture does wonders, just try it and it may help you. You need to try at least 5 acupuncture sessions for the pain to start to go away. If the acupuncturist is good he may even lesson your pain in few sessions.

When I started to get sick all over acupuncture was the only thing that helped. I went to so many doctors and none of them helped. Acupuncture is natural method there is no drugs and no side effects. It is not painful. Try acupuncture + moxa to warm your body for circulation.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this website so I hope I am sending this correctly. I am desperately looking for ideas, thoughts, answers. My biggest problems are I have extremely dry burning; pinching at the rims of my eyes and my skin on my chest area and down my arms burns (feels like it’s been ripped off). I had an ‘en bloc’ explant done with Dr. Melmed in May 2009 (saline, Meghan, textured). I have since learned he did not remove all of the capsule on the post op report. One doctor I’ve contacted says to try anti-fungals and anti-biotics. I am currently doing this for about a week. I don’t know how long it would take to work (if it does). The pain goes up and down but never goes away. It is equal on both sides. Is this fibromyalgia or is it a bacterial/fungal infection? I did have a similar pain once when I had a root canal so it seems like it would be a bacterial infection but other family doctors say it is fibromyalgia. Do I need to have the rest of the capsule taken out in order to get better? I can barely make it through work with the excruciating pain. I find myself going into almost anxiety attacks and crying all the time from this pain. I’m on Neurontin (21000mg, Celebrex, Nexium and now Cipro and Nizoral). Can anyone please help me?
