Guest guest
My almost 3 y/o son, Sasha, has been GFCF for 8 months now. We have been treating him for yeast and bacteria for months now using rounds of Diflucan and Flagal. We've also used many natural helpers such as GrapeFruit Seed Extract and Garlic. He has also been on Nystatin for the days he is not taking Diflucan (4 tsp Nystatin per day at that). But after all this we still can't seem to get the yeast and bacteria under control. Every IgA he has had shows severly low even with probiotics.... Anyway, at our DAN! appointment on Friday we talked about adding the SCD to what we are doing now. Is anyone GFCF and SCD? Is that possible? My son has benefited so much from going GFCF we don't want to add it back in. Also we tested with milk and he broke out in the hives. What are common snacks that your children eat? My son will only eat foods with a bread texture even when going GFCF. He won't eat squash but if you batter it in potato flour and fry it in canola oil he'll eat it. Do I need to be prepared to force feed my son? I'm in the process of finishing " Breaking the Vicious Cycle " and cleaning out our cabinets. I looked at our GFCF foods and most everything contains anywhere from 40-136g of carbs per cup! Thanks! Guest guest
Crystal, Welcome to the list. First off, I would like to recommend that you read the whole pecanbread.com website after you finish reading Elaine's book. The pecanbread.com website was created for parents just starting SCD with their children. There is a lot of information on there to help you get started, including how to implement the diet casein free. (SCD is gluten free already.) There are a lot of recipes on pecanbread.com to help you get started as well. Look especially at the chicken pancakes, banana pancakes and sneaky veggie pancakes since you mentioned that your son prefers foods that are bread-like. Guest guest
Thanks Jody! I was just reading through the auto-emails that it sends out when you join the group. I has just read the part that said " before you post familiarize yourself with BTVC book and pecanbread.com " LOL. Sorry i didn't read that before I posted! :-) Thanks again! Going to pecanbread.com now! -Crystal > Crystal, > > Welcome to the list. > First off, I would like to recommend that you read the whole pecanbread.com > website after you finish reading Elaine's book. > > The pecanbread.com website was created for parents just starting SCD with > their children.
