Guest guest
1. ok - Debbie - go to www.egroups.com and search for " MGB-PostOp " Then you can subscribe to the list. In fact, I encourage all you recent post-ops to join. We have special problems just like we had special concerns when we were pre-ops. 2. As fg mentioned, yes, I did say we are having an Image consultant for our May support group speaker. IMHO we must take care of the body, our packaging, our emotions and our souls. If son has any scannable handouts, I will try to insert them into the text of a letter since e-groups and attachments don't seem to work well. 3. For our friend who's family is still thinking about the old type surgeries, my best ally was the patient manual. I copied a bunch and gave them to my family. My sister, a respiratory therapist, took her copy to a gastric surgeon who proclaimed Doc R's technique the best he had studied. Don't let your family's temporary " closed-mindedness " deter you. Also show them stuff on Carnie (even though hers was a lap-RNY)- sometimes all one needs is a " celebrity endorsement " - i.e., if it's good enough for Carnie, it's good enough for you. Good luck. 4. My recovery went well, I had surgery on a Wed. and was to work the following Monday - I worked 4 hrs. the 1st day and six the rest of that week only. I did get tired easily and I needed some naps. It wasn't long, say about 2 weeks, that I was back into full form. 5. Things are getting better all the time: My pre surgery weight was 348 with a BMI of 51. My weight is now 294 with a BMI of 43. 6. Any pre-op who needs a contact, please contact me privately at moonvi@... love to all, -Ginny Ivanoff mgb: 3/1/
