Guest guest
Well, I finally figured out my son's odor problem - it was coming from his bottom. Poor kid... I was cutting his hair and had stripped him down to his undies and I smelled it... come to find out the cubed cheese I was buying him had potato starch in it!!!! My youngest was starting to get the excema on the face and such as well. FYI Sargento's cubed cheese in the 2lb bags does not contain the potato starch, but the 1lb bags do. I had been buying the 2lb bags for months and the store was out and did not restock for quite a while so I resorted to the 1lb bags. Just goes to show how careful we need to be! So now, the odor (which I assume was stool residue from acidic yeasty stools) seems to be gone but his arm broke out with a large patch of what looks like 'dermatitis' - oblong raised patch of painful skin that is now red and scaley. My youngest has a small round patch on his leg that looks the same way! His face is clear now, but that small patch appeared yesterday as did the one on my oldest's arm. I have been doing zinc cream and epson salt baths regularly now for 2 wks... could this be a detox thing or a reaction to the potato startch? They have been clear of the cheese for 5 days now. This is so bizarre... Robbie
