Guest guest
>>>> When I start giving more AFP both with and between meals, should I expect crankiness or regression at first? If you saw crankiness or regression when you started SCD, and also when you started enzymes, you may see a similar but less intense reaction with each increase in enzymes. Going slow helps to minimize this. Generally it takes a day or two to work itself out. > You mentioned " between meals " - would the snacks I mentioned (1/4 c > yogurt, 1/4 c fruit sauce) be considered a meal? That amount of food is okay. When products say 'on an empty stomach' it rarely means not 1 molecule of food. They usually mean not on a full stomach or to the point a major digestive process would start (stomach acid input, etc). But a lot of people need juice or a couple crackers or something to even get the supplements or medicines down. What you suggest is quite fine for enzymes between meals. >>>Would it work to give her 2 or 3 capsules of AFP with these snacks? Or is it really a waste of good enzymes?! Not a waste. That would work out just fine. >>>> If I can do it on an empty stomach, what's the timing rule? Would the enzymes need a full hour to do their thing before I can feed her? Or would 1/2 hour do it? (I'm emptying out the capsules). Different companies give different timings. Usually 30 minutes to 1 hour before meals is fine, or 2 hours after meals. >>> Would you give extra Peptizide along with the 2 Candidase at night, or is that overkill? I've tried giving 1 Candidase and 1 Peptizide at bedtime, and she woke up cranky... may be coincidence though. I might try this again. Peptizyde is all proteases, and proteases are supposed to help 'mop up' yeast cell debris and thus reduce die-off reactions. I talked to Enzymedica long time about because their literature says that to reduce die off reactions give more proteases. Their recommendation was 2 protease capsules for each 1 Candidase (their all protease product is ViraStop for this use). So try at least one more time with the Peptizyde and Candidase. Let me know how it works out. .
