Guest guest
Paxil is an anti-depressant used to treat depression, post-traumatic stress syndrome, obsessive compulsive behavior, and anxiety . I think it's indicated for something else too, but can't remember. Maybe you can check their website. I think Celebrex is an anti-inflamatory used for arthritis and pain. Guest guest
Dear Kathy, I was on Paxil for one year, and it did nothing for me except to mask some of my neck pain(the Worker's Comp doc liked that one!!). And although he kept insisting that it wasn't addictive, I soon found other docs that said it was. No matter I quit taking it because it did not help me sleep nor help with the depression from chronic pain. LOVE & LIGHT, > Hi Everyone > > I am considering getting off paxil. Guest guest
I took Paxil for six months, but the side effects got to be too much for me. I was switched to Welbutrin (I think) and that seemed to work a little better. I was on that for almost a year, but then ended up stopping that as well. I don't take any antidepressant currently, mostly because I can't afford it.
Guest guest
Hi Kathy, there is a lot of antidepressants out there, and I think I have tried most of them!! LOL There is Effexor, Welbutrin, Celexa-(which I have been on for about 3 years), Zoloft, Prozac, Seroxat, Remeron and Serzone , thats just off the top of my head. Good luck!! Hi Everyone I am considering getting off paxil. I've been on it for about 4 or 5 years. I took 20mg for a long while and now I'm up to 30mg. I don't think it is helping me. I was wondering what other meds to look into instead of paxil. I would like to stay with an antidepressant. I am having major trouble with pms which triggers my fibr and cfs--3 weeks out of 4. My pain for those week is almost intolerable and I have such weakness and flu like symptoms. Does anyone else experience this and what do you find works for you? Guest guest
I take Paxil, well lets just say I did until I ran out over the weekend. didn't think I was that low. now I am sitting here totally depressed and afraid to get in the car, because I might do something really stupid. I didn't think that it was helping but I guess it was. because being without it is REALLY bad. ~~~Tami~~~
Guest guest
I was on a lower dose of Paxil, during which time I lost weight and remained depressed. I was switched to EFFEXOR XR, and I gained weight but lost some of the depression! Colette, 56, S FL
Guest guest
I know I've asked about natural remedies for anxiety, but my daughter is asking about paxil. She's so nervous about making it to the bathroom, and, since she's 25 I believe her nervous problems in her tummy could be a big reason for all these issues with the colitis in the first place. Is there any knowledge among us as to paxil's side effects as it relates to digestive sensitivity? Many thanks, hope I didn't step on any natural-path toes ( I am one myself, but am desperately trying to help my daughter). Debbie daughter 25 uc.
