Diaper rash while introducing new food, after Into Diet. What does it mean?

Hi,

I'm sorry I have so many questions. I'm really new at this so please

bare with me.

On the 3rd day of SCD, while still on the Intro-Diet, my girl has a

tiny bit of diaper rash, which went away the next day. I assumed that

it was initial yeast die-off.

After that, I went on to introduce new food. Yesterday, I gave her

1/4 of a banana at noon and at night, I noticed that she has a bit of

rash on her BACK, just above her diaper. Her tummy was also very

puffy though she didn't complain of discomfort. It got better today,

so I continue to give her 1/4 of a banana at noon. By late afternoon,

I noticed that she has a little bit of rash at her virgina. Her

speech therapist also mentioned that she was not as cooperative

yesterday and today.

Questions:

1. Does this sounds like yeast? If so, is it because of sensitivity

to banana? Or is it because she already has yeast in the first place?

2. I know banana has phenol. So should I hold-off introducing

phenolic food? Any suggestion of what I could introduce? I gave her

spinach and she had gas, I gave her banana and she has rash. I'm

feeling so stressed out. She's still stuck at the food for into diet.

Please help.

This exact scenario happens to my kids when they have a food sensitivity that

also feeds yeast. It is more yeast related than anything. I would not introduce

banana again for 6 months, then go from there. I highly recommend you do not add

more than one food a week after intro, and consider digestive enzymes, so that

you do not have to back track through foods. This has been part of the secret of

our success on SCD.

We are major rash veterans, we have left this 100% behind

now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
