Guest guest
Poor Jody, :-P You sound as frustrated as we do sometimes, trying to explain Glenn's dietary options (organic, rotation, SCD/LOD, CF, low phenol/salicilyte, less IgG reactants - nearly forty of 'em). Lol. > > SCD should be a well-balanced diet utilizing the myriad of allowable > fruits and vegetables that are allowed on this diet. > You're so right. There ARE a lot of choices, even with Glenn's parameters. But I think that a lot of " normal " people can't really wrap their heads around the idea that kids don't need to eat prepackaged stuff to be happy. > SCD is NOT equivalent to Atkins. > SCD does NOT restrict the QUANTITY of carbohydrates. > It only restricts carbohydrate choices. > It's that last bit - the " choice " aspect I think, that throws folks off...we're so used to convienence foods - even healthy ones - that it is easy to forget that fruits and veggies are the origional fast foods, lol. We've got a lot of friends in the med field, and they say the same things you're irritated by. I always ask them if they don't consider fruits/veggies carbs...and they always say.. " Oh - I forgot about those! " . Those guys especially oughtta know better, lol. Please don't become too aggravated over this...there is always going to be some issue that needs going over ad nauseum; and it is SO worth it to be able to tweak somebody's perspective a bit. You all (the die hard listmembers/moderators) do a fabulous job. I am happy to be on a list where people care so much about what they do. I hope that 2006 brings good health, healing and a boatload of patience for all of us. :-) -christine
