Guest guest
Hi, My husband had a histamine problem years ago. Every evening he would itch, and even light scratching would raise red swollen welts on his skin. He went to an allergist for testing which revealed nothing. I did lots of reading and found something helpful in the Nutrition Almanac, third edition, by Lavon J. Dunne. On page 153 it says: " Rapid growth depletes magnesium. A magnesium deficiency is also a factor in the release of histamine [emphasis mine]. " I realized that my husbands mineral stores had been depleted, not by rapid growth, but by excessive water drinking and dietary changes following a bout with a kidney stone. I began giving him magnesium in a multimineral supplement, and his histamine problem cleared up, never to return. I hope this information helps you.
