Guest guest
Hi Tina, Your situation is classic for implant issues. It's so sad the way we are treated...medical mystery when the problem is literally under their noses!!!! They just choose to never see the implants as a source of the problem. Even when the manufacturer's own inserts admit that implants can have these side effects. Guess they make it a point to never read the inserts, huh? One of the very, very best explanting surgeons in the country is very close to you, so I would recommend that you contact her for explant. She is Dr. Lu Feng in Cleveland, OH www.drfeng.com She is fantastic, according to every report we've ever gotten from her patients! Please let us know if you are able to see her, and how everything goes for you. Be sure to check into our files section in the " explant " folder, where we have compiled valuable information about this important surgery. Take care, Patty > > Hi! I just figured out what has been making me sick for the past 3 years. The saline implants. I have been researching this for days and have so many symptoms in common with these other women. I would have never known about this if I didn't see it on MTV's True Life. I have been so sick for the last 3 years. I had my implants done 7 years ago.I asked the DR. how safe they were and was assured that they were perfectly safe because they were saline.I started feeling very weak and tired. I was achy and my muscles and joints hurt.I was loosing alot of weight and I was very disoriented, confused and off balance. I went to my primary DR. he took blood and told me that all my bloodwork was fine that and I had ebstein Barr.I went back and forth for a year getting worse and getting down to a size 0. I was fainting and had to be brought to the ER a few times, I was told my blood was fine to see a Rheumatologist. I started to get very itchy and my face, hands, feet began to swell really bad.I was finally admitted into the hospital. I was there for 2 weeks getting worse and worse to the point that I couldn't walk and I had a hard time swallowing. The DR'S said I was a medical mystery and they didn't know what was wrong with me I had gone through so many ,tests everything was coming back fine.I had a muscle biopsy and they figured out that I have DERMATOMYOSITIS. This is a very rare muscle inflamatory disease. I was always extremely healthy before this happened.I worked out 4 to 5 times a week I ate very healthy. I have been through so many different types of treatments in the last 2 years. Nothing is really working for me except The prednisone, which has really bad side effects. I have asked my Rheumatologist if the implants had anything to do with this disease, they said no. I have symptoms not related to my disease such as the confusion, the dizziness. I also never sinus issues before. For the past few years I get constant sinus infections. I still have chronic fatigue, muscle weakness,my hair is falling out.I also have pain in my left breast.I'm going to the breast surgeon tomorrow.I have ranauds, and joint pain. I want these implants out of my body,LIKE YESTERDAY!!!! I'm so sure this is contributing to my sickness.I've been saying for years that I feel like I'm being poisoned. I want to find a DR. that supports this even though the FDA doesn't. I want to be explanted asap. If anybody has info on a DR. I would appreciate it or any other input or information you can share. Thanks so much!! Tina from New York >

Guest guest
I have to say this about Dr. Melmed, as well as any of our doctors who explant.... Please, please, please make sure you ask for a total capsulectomy if you have saline implants! Dr. Melmed has stated that he believes that the capsules will dissolve in time, and therefore he sometimes leaves portions of the capsule in. (Dr. Huang, Dr. Feng and Dr. Kolb always remove all of it). I mean no disrespect to Dr. Melmed because I think he is a great man and has done so many good things for so many women, but I disagree with him on his position about capsules dissolving over time. There is absolutely no, NONE, NOT ANY, evidence of that, and in fact, there is evidence of the complete opposite: that capsules over time morph and evolve into dangerous blobs of tissue, sometimes filled with bacteria or other gunk that creates a bio-reactor. Dr. Pierre Blais, who is a failed medical devices expert in Canada has in fact written a paper discussing the risks associated with long term residual capsules in the body. YOu can read this report in our links section as well as our files section. It is an important paper and the basis for our strong urging to make sure all of the capsule is removed. Dr. Feng has also written a statement for us that lists the only exceptions to NOT removing the capsule surrounding a saline implant, and almost NOBODY will qualify for these exceptions. So....for those who choose to go to Dr. Melmed, please discuss thoroughly your desire for a total capsule removal at the time of explant and make sure you get it in writing that he will do this for you. Take Dr. Blais's paper with you as support documentation. There are other studies listed as well, if you want to take even more.
