Guest guest
Some of you might remember that some time ago, I made an effort to find out what my " bowel tolerance " limit was for Vitamin C. I wanted to make sure I was getting all the Vit C that my body needed. I ramped up, and was taking huge amounts of Vit C pills eventually, like over 12,000 mg a day, and I NEVER did reach my bowel tolerance limit. I figured that either I just needed to get way more Vit C than the next person, or this idea was a myth, and that there wasn't really a bowel tolerance limit for me. Recently, I read a book called " Practicing Medicine without a License " , which is the story of Dr. Linus ing's efforts to help those with heart disease find healing and incredibly, he found that the body responded beautifully to large doses of ASCORBIC ACID and L-lysine. Ascorbic Acid is simply Vitamin C, and it was through Dr. ing's book " How to Feel Better and Live Longer " that I originally learned the value of getting large doses of Vitamin C. This book gives some support to the testimonials of those who have used the ing Protocol. Apparently, though, I overlooked a very important point! The Vitamin C must be in the proper form! I have been taking ASCORBIC ACID and L-lysine lately, and I definitely have a bowel tolerance point! I can reach it as quickly as 4,000 mg. Previously when I took Vit C, I didn't quite pay attention to the form of Vitamin C I was taking. I was more concerned with the whole food aspect of it, getting the rose hips, bioflavinoids, etc, and making sure it was buffered. This is the reason I did not see the results I had hoped for. But using Ascorbic Acid, my body is definitely reaching bowel tolerance. It makes me wonder, what was my body doing with all of that Vitamin C I was ingesting previously? I bought a 3 lb tub of Ascorbic Acid from Iherb for about $45. Well worth it! The L-lysine was not much more. I have not been sick at all this winter, while I'm hearing about people being sick all around me. If you are concerned about staying healthy this winter, make sure you are getting plenty of ASCORBIC ACID and L-lysine. The protocol is primarily intended for those with vascular concerns. I had mysterious symptoms early in my illness that caused me concern...and I know some of our women have had heart issues. My stepdaughter had heart issues after having implants. One of the potential risks listed in the early pamphlets about breast implants was " collagen vascular disease. " I am of the mind to do everything I can to practice preventative medicine, and if a little bit of Vitamin C goes a long way, I am all for it! Check out the book if you have more interest. God bless all, Patty
