Hi everyone. I am almost there. My packet is in, the insurance

finally approved me and nerves are beginning to get the best of me.

I would appreciate some information on your surgery experiences. How

long did it take? What was recovery like? Did it take a long time

for your to get back to your normal routine (minus the food in-take

of course)? What about pain? When did you go back to work? I know

I am asking a lot of questions, but I'd like to know your

experiences. Thanks so much.

Hi Della,

I don't know how much help I can be; I just had my surgery Monday the

15th. I can give you a recent review of the hospital though!

I was first on the list for the day; surgery was at 7:30am. Everyone

on the staff is extremely professional and compassionate. I never

felt like anyone was judging me. I was prepped so quickly, I was in

the operating room it seemed like a matter of minutes (I know it was

longer, but pacing helps pass the time). Della, they ask you to take

4 deep breathes and a minute later they are asking you how you are

feeling! It took 35 minutes for my surgery and Dr R even took the

time to look around to make sure there were no cancers, tumors or

adhesions. I wasn't in much pain; they did give me a shot of Demoral

when I came to and they talked with me. They took me to my room and

it never really got bad. The only thing I started having was alot of

acid reflux. They (the nurses) gave me all they could for

indigestion but they ended up having to give me more demoral and

phenegran for the acid. As for the port sites it just feels like you

did too many situps. I was standing and walking within hours and

doing fine.

I know what you and everyone else is going through. I still can't

believe I've had the surgery already; seems like just yesterday I was

sleepless in sville!! Best of luck to you and let us know when

you get your date!
