Guest guest
Hi, this is to respond to 's post and to seek comments my 2 boys used to have bloated " timpanic " (Dr's description) " pregnant tummies and I panicked so much over it and wondered endlessly as to the cause(s) SCD, pureeing the food, being strict with intro easily digested foods by the stages (remaining long time on the lower stages) helped alleviate the bloating/farting/discomfort but still, we saw the tummy does bloat on occassion then we thought it was some sort of inflammation/allergies lately my second son's preschool teacher told me that I am overfeeding him (I send SCD snacks and lunches) to school they told me I should give him 1/2 the amount I am packing so I did (for months, my husband has been complaining that I overfeed them, but I chose to disagree with my husband, thinking that I am starving them with so many dietary restrictions) but since the preschool teachers said so, I reduced the amount of foods/meal and served my kids 4 small meals/day instead of 3 larger ones and slowed them down during meals (teacher complained again than my son swallows food too fast nonstop) and stop at a fixed amount/meal regardless of protests of wanting more with this, my son's tummies look more normal and not so tightly bloated and stretched skintight feeling sorry for my " deprived " (no sweets, ice-creams, etc)kiddos I hated to agree with my husband that overfeeding is an issue but I myself have a tendency to shove food into my mouth quickly when I eat until I " hit the spot " and I easily see that my kids, who do not chew well shove food in their mouths too granted, my kids are more hungry due to diets and enzymes granted, their floras are not perfect and poor digestions..thus the gas perhaps inflammation too (someone comment on this) causing the bloated gut but in my case, feeding them a lot per sitting is a problem due to my mommy instinct to want to feed my kids " well " re: inflammation. we do not know about it yet currently Dr.Bradstreet suspects that my sons may have IBD son #2 hasn't gained weight since I weaned him at 18 months old we are doing intestinal permeability test to see if further GI scoping is necessary I appreciate insights and experiences/comments thanks!
