Guest guest
I may have mentioned this friend before, not sure. Sorry if I am repeating. ANYWAY... I have been preparing to tell a dear friend of mine I was having the MGB. She had wls in 1972 and nearly died of complications. She has also been very overweigh but at this point in her life (age 70) is a normal size, but has TONS of complications from a life of obesity. Two different bouts with cancer, both cured, of course, two knee replacements, terrible back pain that can't be operated on, NOW a torn roatator cup, and diabetes with huge swings. It seems the past ten years, no matter what she does, she had trouble. SHe has always been dear to me, we go back to OA days together and she is also a spiritual mentor to me, keeps me covered in prayer and even prayed my husband into my life 18 years ago! (takes all the credit too). ANYWAY... last night I called and told her what I planned to do. She was just wonderful. First words out of her mouth, were, well I am SURE the surgery is MUCH different from what I did and I am so glad God brought this into your life. This IS the right decision for you. She couldn't believe how much I knew about it. She said she had the surgery knowing NOTHING... anyway, it was great to have her on my side. I knew she would be, but still... I wouldn't blame her if she were scared for me. It was just another blessing!
