Guest guest
Tania, Most doctors will not run blood titers because they are expensive and why do it when they can give you the vaccine as it is right there within their hands reach. I'm not sure how much each titer is but my son had several tests for a total of $1700.00. My health ins paid approx $101.00. Then the doctors bill was $550.00 and the health ins paid $78.00. However, I am happy I ran the titers because I was able to submit them to the school as proof that he has immunity and does not need boosters. I hope your neurologist will run the metals testing. My son has seen 4 neuro's in our health network who will not. I got one to run a liver function test because of the amount of clo I'm giving my son but other than that they won't. The only doctor's I have been able to rely on are DAN! doctors who personally have a child on the spectrum. These doctor's are compassionate and do discount their fees but because I cover most of the bill, they are still expensive. Hope

Insurance paid in full but it was only about $200 or so. When we ran a viral titer panel through Immunosciences last year, it was a bit more expensive -- about $350 -- but it covered some of the unusual viral titers as well. Since you said you ran several tests, I'm assuming the bulk of the price was the other tests and the doc probably had a hefty mark-up. It think it's wonderful that DAN docs are willing to help our kids but so many of them mark up the lab tests way too much making it really difficult for people to afford help. Guest guest
My daughter just had 3 titers run last week through Quest Labs also. They totalled close to $500.00 and we will totally pay out of pocket because our Dr. was willing to write the lab request for us simply because we asked her. We didn't have her " blessings " on the matter. She probably would have put a code on it if it were one of our autistic boys(even though she doesn't support the vaccine connection with autism) however, she did not think it was necessary to have the titers done on our neurotypical daughter.(or perhaps she honestly doesn't know what code to use?) Any suggestions here on something I might do as a last ditch effort to see if our insurance will cover it? Even if they do, we will have to meet a $500.00 deductible for any lab work done so we need to pay it regardless. Either way--we have NO regrets doing this. a Re: heavy metal testing In a message dated 6/1/03 10:52:39 AM Central Daylight Time, gryharhntr@... writes: > I'm not sure how much each titer is but my son had several tests for a > total > of $1700.00. Hope: I don't know if you ever got someone (DAN?) to run this test for you? If not, you can order it yourself, through a company " Direct Lab Services " . There is complete info on how to do this, here: autism/files/HOW_TO_hair_test Tania, you can also get a test for heavy metals the same way. It costs $79, including the test and getting it signed for. best wishes, Moria

Guest guest
,There are some links in our links section to help you find a professional in the field of natural and alternative medicine. You may want to start by asking a holistic dentist, who may know how to get tested. I found these holistic dentists listed for England. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi there, Are you familiar with the Biolab ? I'm pretty sure they do heavy metal testing (as well as all sorts of other interesting testing that's hard to find elsewhere). http://www.biolab.co.uk/ > > Hi, Just wondering if anybody knows where i can go for heavy metal testing in the UK? > thank you > Xx >
