Guest guest
Hi a, If you have a copy of your certificate of coverage, that will help - Find the section on cosmetic surgery. Go over that with your surgeon's billing office. In my research for a surgeon, I discovered that Dr. Kolb in Atlanta was very willing to help me get it pushed through if need be, but when she read my certificate of coverage, she said that no matter what it wouldn't have been covered. Also, if you are self-insured, did you notify your insurance of the implants when you disclosed previous conditions? If not, you might not want to get " put on the radar " by submitting a claim for coverage of the surgery. OR - If you have insurance through group coverage at your employer, I'd say to meet with the HR rep who is in charge of benefits and go over what kinds of things could cause you to get dropped. I just had my surgery last week and was given a list of things to be off of. I don't see all of your individual supplement names on the list, but I'd have your doctor's office go over their labels and look for ingredients that are no-no's. I took a probiotic before my surgery because I had a sinus issue I was battling. Also, I was told to start my bromelain, which is a digestive enzyme, 3 days prior to surgery and to continue it after the surgery. As for financing if insurance isn't an option, my husband and I did " CareCredit. " See if your doctor's office has that as an option. They have many payment plans. We put our deposit down on a 6-month no interest plan, and we put the rest on a 48-month plan with a higher interest rate. I have heard that you CANNOT be late with them or they will jack your rate up to the max (25.9% I think)... but for me, my health was worth the risk. There is NO price on good health. I figured I had paid enough over 11 years of lowered quality of life and was going to pay with my health indefinitely without the surgery. Be absolutely sure your surgeon will be taking the capsule and any remaining other abnormal looking tissue out, even if that's more expensive. If they do not believe in the possibility of these implants causing your problems, then they are NOT the right surgeon. Good luck, and I hope you feel much better very soon > > Hello everyone, > Today has been soooo terribly bad with my burning chest and arms (feels like the skin). I barely made it through work. Guest guest
So if I read that correctly, then what you are saying is that if a's doctor can bill the procedure as medically necessary " exploratory surgery " due to cysts, nodules, inflammation, and pain, then perhaps she would only have to pay the " plastic " part of the surgery but not the majority of it, which is the looking around and taking out of suspicious tissue for biopsy and pathology. Hmmmm.... That's an interesting thought. If the insurance company wouldn't like this claim to be coming from a plastic surgeon, maybe a, you could visit your primary or OB/GYN and get referred to a general surgeon, then ask him/her to work in tandem with the plastic surgeon (have the plastic surgeon come to your exploratory surgery -- they do this type of thing all the time), so that most of the costs are covered, like the operating room, anesthesia, biopsies, pathology (not that of the implants though) and exploratory portion. Then the plastic surgeon can guide the process, and do the removal of the capsule and breast lift (if any) and proper suturing to minimize scarring. This will, of course, result in some information in your medical records that indicates you have had implants. Something to look into, for sure! Good luck a! I wish you total health and a speedy recovery. > > > > Hello everyone, > > Today has been soooo terribly bad with my burning chest and arms (feels like the skin). I barely made it through work.
