Guest guest
Patty,It is so true how you say, “With that partial capsuleremaining, it will always be a question in your mind as to whether or not youcould get better without it.â€Â I know. I can’t believe I have to go back all through thesurgery just to take out probably a little bit of what is left. Can they getall the capsule out by a periareola incision? I have an appt. with Dr. Feng onMay 11th! I just hope it makes a difference and works! Now if it was bacterial infection wouldn’t I haveswelling/redness too? I am on progesterone since my estrogen was way high and I have ahuge 6 cm fibroid! I am so mad about that. I heard implants cause those to worsen.  I will check into the Rogene post if I can figure out how to find them. Thanks so much for helping me through this, From: [mailto: ] OnBehalf Of glory2glory1401Sent: Friday, April 09, 2010 11:08 AM Subject: reply Re: New to this Support Group-Dry burningeyes -Skin on my chest area/arms BURNING-feels like it’s been ripped off Hi a, I'm glad to hear you have been through explant, and that you saw Dr. Melmed, who seems to be a very good doctor. I have heard that he does not always removeall of the capsule for women with saline implants, and that is a concern. Forpeace of mind, it is just much better to have all of it gone, as you have foundout. With that partial capsule remaining, it will always be a question in yourmind as to whether or not you could get better without it.So, in that regard, you may want to consider removal of that scar tissue. Thatwill give you the peace of mind in knowing that it is finally and fully gone.As for the burning pain, that is a symptom we have seen in quite a few women. It is very hard to say if it is fibromyalgia (it could be) or bacterialinfection (it could be), but it could also be a combination of things. The mostfrustrating thing about breast implant illness is that it is so hard topinpoint our specific cures. Different women have gotten better with differentapproaches, but the most prevalent aspect of healing is our need for removingoffending substances from our body and rebuilding health with good nutrition. That is why we focus on detoxing, and then a healthy diet. Often hormones needto be replaced, such as thyroid, or the reproductive hormones which are out ofwhack. One big issue I see from your letter is all the drugs you are on. Neurontinitself is a big problem. I would recommend that you do some research in ourarchives for the posts by Rogene, where she brought to our attention thepenalty the manufacturers had to pay for selling that drug, and the fact thatit depletes magnesium. Magnesium deficiency is a HUGE problem for Neurontinusers, but it is never addressed by the doctors. I myself believe personally that drugs hinder our ability to get better, ratherthan help. They add a toxic burden to the liver, which is already trying toclear our bodies of toxicity from bacteria, fungus and whatever chemicals weare exposed to. If you can make the effort to get off the drugs, I think thatwould be a good thing. You may need to find a naturopathic doctor to help youthrough that process. There are answers...other women have suffered through similar experiences andhave written about them on the group. If you have time to research ourarchives, I would suggest it, to see what they have done. I myself have not hadthis kind of pain, but I did suffer through the worst of implant illness andhave lived a good life, which I wish for you as well. WE will keep searchingfor the answers with you.Patty>> Hello everyone,> I am new to this website so I hope I am sending this correctly. I amdesperately looking for ideas, thoughts, answers. My biggest problems are Ihave extremely dry burning; pinching at the rims of my eyes and my skin on mychest area and down my arms burns (feels like it’s been ripped off). I had an‘en bloc’ explant done with Dr. Melmed in May 2009 (saline, Meghan, textured). I have since learned he did not remove all of the capsule on thepost op report. One doctor I’ve contacted says to try anti-fungals andanti-biotics. I am currently doing this for about a week. I don’t know howlong it would take to work (if it does). The pain goes up and down but nevergoes away. It is equal on both sides. Is this fibromyalgia or is it abacterial/fungal infection? I did have a similar pain once when I had a rootcanal so it seems like it would be a bacterial infection but other familydoctors say it is fibromyalgia. Do I need to have the rest of the capsule takenout in order to get better? I can barely make it through work with theexcruciating pain. I find myself going into almost anxiety attacks and cryingall the time from this pain. I’m on Neurontin (21000mg, Celebrex, Nexium andnow Cipro and Nizoral).
