Dr. R does not do concurrent gallbladder, if you have need for a gall bladder removal, that would be a separate surgery. 2. shouldn't. 3. only 3 and 1/2 mo. sorry. 4. NO wls works for everyone. There will always be someone who loses very little or no weight afterward, but the bypass surgery usually does better than simple gastroplasty, and statistically the odds are in your favor for losing. 5. I had very little bruising, and very little abd. pain. Most people have very little pain after the initial bad gas bubble under the left shoulder. I understand occasionally there is someone who bruises some. 6. Protein suplements are recommended (see the post op diet suggestions in the manual). I take whey or soy protein supplements. Seems to do ok, I have been improving my strength and stamina at the gym significantly. 7. My experience at the hospital and with the nurses was a good one. I have worked in several hospitals as an RN, and I thought they did a good job. There have been a few, very few, who did not get good service, but the nurses on the 5th floor were great. 8. The nurses like Dr. R, and think his patients are great. We all get our keisters out of bed and walk without any hassel. We are all well educated and prepared for the surgery and for the post op period. And taking care of a lap patient is not bad. We have a lot less pain than other surgical patients.
