Re: My Dad's heart attack....UPDATE

Hi Gang,

Just got home from the hospital. It still amazes me how exhausted you can

become from such emotional turmoil.

So far Dad's doing well. He's having tests in the morning to determine how

severe the heart attack was and how much damage there might have been from

it. It'll also show the doctor if he'll need another angioplasty or if his

heart is diseased. Depending on the outcome of the test, he'll either be

sent by ambulance to another hospital for an angioplasty or sent home. Guess

which one I'm rooting for? >G<

Dad's tired, didn't sleep well last nite. You post-ops know how hard it is

to get a good nights sleep in a noisy hospital, specially when they're poking

and prodding you at all hours.

My family and I are very optimistic about his recovery. I'm still scared but

won't tell my family that. Dad didn't cry or show his feelings when my

brother and his wife came to see him and he kept himself in check with my

mother as well. But...as soon as Mom was out of the room he broke down and

told me how severe the pain was and that he thought he 'was going to go'. I

kissed him and hugged him for a long time with both of us bawling like

babies. I didn't want to let go of him, but I had to let him up for air.

Mom came back into the room and we were still crying and she said 'what's

this, what did you do?' That question was directed at me.

I pointed to Dad and said 'he started it. Its his fault.' And Dad and I

laffed, which broke the tension.

Mom said 'your his little girl and he only cries with you'. (May I say I'm

430lbs, but STILL his little girl. Aren't Dad's wonderful?) 'Your the only

one that can make him break down'.

I'm glad he got his emotions out, we all know how much better we feel when we

express our fears. It either eliminates them or reduces them and does our

soul good.

My Mom doesn't know what my Dad told me about thinking he was going to die.

She wouldn't believe me and Dad would lie to her and deny it in an effort to

save her feelings. But, that's OK. I know, Dad knows, we're both OK with

that. (Of course now my online 'family' knows and thats OK with me too)

I want to thank everyone who wrote to me and sent their prayers and support

and encouragement. They made me cry, but made me feel very good and I swear

I could feel the love coming off my puter right into my heart. It was all

positive energy and warmth and concern and I don't have the words to tell you

how appreciative I am of that.

I need to go and cry some more now, but thank you again for keeping my Dad

and me and my family in your prayers and thoughts.

Love and God Bless you all,

Hugs,

Rose
