Welcome to our group, and please do not make any decisions until you have heard some of our stories. I have only one breast, and it was because of the breast implants. They are not safe, and most all of the women in this group have been through hell because of the these devices. I would write more, but today is just too busy...just know that we will be here for you.

Stay close honey...love to you...Lea

Hi ,

I'm sorry to hear of your battle with breast cancer. YOu are a fighter, and I

pray you will continue to always win!

While I have not been through breast cancer, I have known women on this group

who have been, and who have both gotten breast implants and regretted it because

it destroyed their precious health even more, and then there have been the few

brave women who have opted to forego the implants and live life without the

reconstruction.

is one such brave woman...I am sure she will speak up to help you.

I imagine it is difficult to live with one breast, though the options to fix it

are not that easy.

Personally, if I was in that situation, I would only be looking at some of the

newer techniques that have been developed in Japan using stem cells. I am not

sure if they are developing that technique in Europe or not yet. I believe they

may be.

We have links in our links section to check out...please do!

I pray it will give you hope!

Hi ,

Your questions are not silly. They are very important questions. I will answer

based on what I've learned and experienced over the past 12 years involved with

breast implants.

For your first question, " Maybe the latest implants are improved in order not to

cause such problems? "

The answer lies in the fact that human bodies have not changed. Silicone is

silicone. Human bodies are human bodies. Even if they change the formulation

of the silicone in the shell, or the filler inside the implants, the body will

react to the presence of a foreign object. The immune system does not like

foreign substances in the body, especially chemical ones. All implants are made

with silicone, so it does not matter they " improve " them. If the body is going

to react, nothing is going to change that.

Does that make sense?

Also, we are not entirely certain it is just the silicone alone that may be

presenting problems. It could be the metals used to thicken the silicone into a

gel (they've used platinum, nickel and tin, which are never good in the body),

which then leach into the organs and cells in our bodies, creating havoc, called

heavy metal toxicity.

It could be the presence of bacteria that produce longstanding subclinical

infections just from the surgery itself.

Autoimmunity arises in different people at different times, from different

instigators. So, regardless of how they " improve " implants, there is nothing

that is going to change the basic biological processes that occur in our

body...and that is why there is risk. It's best to just leave the body do what

it does best, without throwing junk in the works, in order to maintain best

health, IMHO.

We had one group member, Gretchen (www.myimplantstory.com) who received the " new

and improved " silicone gel implants when they first came back on the market in

November 2006. She was sick immediately. You can read her story at the link.

2nd question:

" were there health problems,i.e autoimmune diseases before implantation? "

In my case and in almost every case I know of, NO. I was completely healthy

before implantation. Incredible good health! I hadn't had a flu or cold in the

previous 10 years!

In the very few cases where I have heard of women having some autoimmunity

before implantation (such as Mikat on our group, who had fibromyalgia, or

Janice, who had MS), those diseases flared with a vengeance! Not a pretty

picture at all.

3rd question:

" all these terrible side effects, are they caused by ruptured or even by unbroken

implants? "

They are caused by just the presence of implants, whether new, old, broken or

unbroken.

The variable factor is the human body. YOUR human body. It depends on your

toxic load. What you've been exposed to in your life. YOUR genetics. Your

allergies. Your immune system. And yes, ruptured implants are probably a worse

situation than unruptured implants, but you can get sick from newly placed

implants just as deathly as ruptured implants too!

This is truly " Russian Roulette " getting implants!

Hopefully that helps you...

With love,

Patty

Hi Pat.

I deeply appreciate your response.

You couldn't make things more clear to me.

I 'm a doctor actually and it is easy for me to understand all the procedure of

getting sick. But in the mainstream of medicine such informations are never

spread around.Doctors think they are not important. The important think is their

ego and the money they make.

Thanks again..

I just want to chime in on this one....From what I

read, awhile back..the new and improved, improvement

was the thickening of the gel so it wouldnt run everywhere

when ruptured, but to thicken that gel they must use

platinum.....and or other products like that to achieve

the thicker product.....so therefore, even tho the silicone

is thicker, it still degrades and only time will tell just

how much...it hasnt been long enough yet...but looking at

history of women severly ill from saline filled silicone implants

and the finding of silicone in lymph nodes and cysts that have

been removed, just goes to show you that you just cant

get around the body doing its wonderful God given function....

macrophages and phagocytes attacking and carrying off invaders.

We must have that bodily function to survive life......

We should not add to the load our bodies are allready fighting.....

Too bad I didnt learn this before implants......but going thru this

helps me to be able to help others in the same situation......
