Guest guest
Hey ! I just wrote a book of a post to Jenn, some of that, about the enzymes, may apply directly to you. We are still struggling with yeast and other issues. Flares will happen, especially when exposure to an irritant (either through food or environmental wise). Its different for everyone, the specific triggers and problems, but in a general way, the same. Until we are all healed, things will occur. However, as more healing progresses, even the flares generally become less and less. After the introduction of an illegal with an unhealed intestine can cause a greater flare. All of this will pass in due time. Healing takes time, so there is lots and lots of hope! 3 months on the diet is still relatively new. There just is no magic other than what we are doing day after day. Please read the book " Enzymes for Autism and other Neurological Conditions " by DeFelice. No matter what enzymes you choose to go with, her method of slow introduction, will save so much headache. I know, for myself, I react to all enzymes when I first take them, and just thought it was because I couldn't take them...would have saved me alot of headache to read this book first. Plus, it covers alot of general enzyme information. Enzymes will also cause die-off, so like yogurt, go very small in the beginning. The effect may take a month or two, then all of a sudden, if your child reacts like us, there will be these little breakthroughs...a new word, better poops, better behavoir, better response to simple commands, etc. The first time we started enzymes, it was with the Kirkman Dpp 4, or something similar. We started to much too soon, and it made all of us sick. We stopped, I read the book by , waited for some time, and reintroduced. We made alot of progress with these, but then we hit a wall. We then moved to isogest, we found absolutely no difference between the original formula and the one with added isogest. We were also taking the phenol enzyme Kirkman's make. Then, we moved to houston's, and this group of enzymes really did the trick for us. We take HN-Zyme Prime, the original with the rice bran OIL filler, SCD approved, No-Fenol, and Peptizyde, all with the same filler. Went really slow, and it has worked wonders for us. My future plans include trying the enzyme brand " Virastop " , which, when taken consistently on an empty stomach, help to break up viruses. If you take it with food, it will end up working on digesting food particles before viruses. Some people take Kirkman's and Houston's not only with meals, but between meals, to help bust up yeasties. Enzymes are safe, and in a healthy body, should be produced within the body. Anyone with digestive complaints, no matter the diagnosis, should at least consider trying enzymes if they need further help. I'd much rather recommend enzyme usage than GSE and all those other intense yeast and viral busters, because they continue to wipe out the good guys we keep planting in the intestines. So, my opinion. I do not believe enzymes are a stand in for a proper diet, like SCDiet. Enzymes, for instance, cannot breakdown artificial made chemicals, like red40, etc. which keep contributing to a worn down mucosal lining, especially so in sick people. However, we could eat no diet without our enzymes. Here is a yahoo group I belong too. I don't post there, no time, pecanbread is my most favorite site on the web, but, I skim through all the posts periodically...so much information there. So, read the book, it will help you with some of your nervousness and give you a good idea of where you may be headed. The information is mostly general, and can apply to your whole search for finding good enzymes for your kids. To Your Health in the New Year! It gives me hope--my daughter is doing better after 3 months SCD, but we are still struggling with yeast, sleep issues, and only on 3 foods! However, I am hoping things will continue to improve--she sure looks healthier and is happier. I am thinking of starting enzymes, but I am nervous about it--how did it go for you?
