While at Childrens Hospital a few years back, to my surprise

there were many who were deathly sick all because of tattoos

Trust me it's not always needle related

Just like these implants you don't hear much about the dangers

Always research the dangers that may lie ahead when

putting any type of chemical into your system including ink !!!!

You just never know what your immune system will do

Forget the ink go buy a Mink !!!

Don't know about you but...

My boobies have been through a world war

What are the Risks? Tattoo Ink Research Tattoo Tips for Consumers

As the popularity of tattoos continues to grow, so does the concern about potential risks. Some risks, such as the spread of infections through the use of unsterilized needles, have long been known. But what isn't clear is the safety of tattoo inks.

Permanent tattoos are made by using needles to inject colored ink below the skin's surface. Permanent make-up is considered a permanent tattoo that mimics the results of cosmetic products such as an eyebrow pencil, lip liner, eyeliner, or blush.

While state and local authorities oversee the practice of tattooing, ink and ink colorings (pigments) used in tattoos are subject to FDA regulation as cosmetics and color additives. However, because of other public health priorities and a previous lack of evidence of safety concerns, FDA has not traditionally regulated tattoo inks or the pigments used in them.

FDA has received reports of bad reactions to tattoo inks right after tattooing or even years later. Some people report itchy or inflamed skin around their tattoos in the summer when they've been out in the sun. Recent reports associated with permanent make-up inks have prompted FDA to study tattoo ink safety.

"Our hope is to get a better understanding of the body's response to tattoos and their impact on human health, and to identify products at greatest risk," says Katz, M.D., M.P.H., Director of FDA's Office of Cosmetics and Colors in the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.

hi robyn... saline under the muscle means I had implants, saline, inserted under the muscle instead of on top of the muscle. some women choose to implant under the muscle for a more natural look, I guess. reconstruction? did you have a mastectomy? whether this is reconstructive or cosmetic, please be careful. honestly, if I have one or both of my breasts removed I would just tattoo over the scar and call it good. with all of the information about the adverse effects of implants, AND having had cancer, I don't think implanting would be wise. I know there is the whole 'uneven' aspect, and society's dictates of what a woman should look like/be. but the reality is that breast cancer happens, and having to have a breast removed is a part of it. love sees beyond the physical. and there are men out there that can see past big rubber boobs. robyn, I wish you the best in whatever you decide. I wish I could sit you down and talk to you for an hour or so. be careful. there is beauty in being different. there is beauty in embracing the wound. there is beauty is becoming a whole person... inclusive of life's badges of courage. wear your badge proudly. my concern is that you do something out of an inability to accept, or a fear of losing femininity, or to try to achieve that which is unattainable and not even necessary... give yourself time. and remember, they want your money. it's all about money. doctors don't always tell the truth. with all of the women (millions...) that are sick due to implants, they STILL cannot fess up. shame. it sickens me to think of all of the women who undergo mastectomy only to be told they need an IMPLANT to be better. sick. SICK SICK SICK. YOU ARE A WOMAN. A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. WITH ONE BREAST, NO BREASTS, BREASTS DO NOT DEFINE YOUR FEMININITY OR WORTH. love and respect your body. embrace it, and life's hand. I wish for you peace, and the wisdom to know what is best for you, not what somebody ELSE says. including me. I can be strong, but it is out of love. my best to you, robyn. -L

implant removal without capsulectomy

Is there anyone out there that has had saline implants removed without having the scar capsule removed? If so I would LOVE to talk to you!
