With orthostatic hypotension, atrial tach is common. Blood pools in the

lower extremities, causing the heart beat faster to try and maintain the

blood supply to the upper extremities.

I have it, and my heart has reached 235 BPM. it is a scary feeling, but

atrial tack or sinus tach is most often seen in athletes after a strenuous

contest and it is normal.

This is what a cardiologist is looking for when he has a patient take the

" tilt table test " .

Yes, especially if you have an infection which throws the whole system out of

whack. But over-exertion can also cause it.

Hope you are seeing your doctor about it.
