Guest guest
I keep reading about pre-ops getting EKG's but I couldn't find where it said we had to have one. Do we need one? Toni Lieb
Guest guest
, With orthostatic hypotension, atrial tach is common. Blood pools in the lower extremities, causing the heart beat faster to try and maintain the blood supply to the upper extremities. I have it, and my heart has reached 235 BPM. it is a scary feeling, but atrial tack or sinus tach is most often seen in athletes after a strenuous contest and it is normal. This is what a cardiologist is looking for when he has a patient take the " tilt table test " . Guest guest
, Yes, especially if you have an infection which throws the whole system out of whack. But over-exertion can also cause it. Hope you are seeing your doctor about it.
