Guest guest
Hi: I keep reading all these positive endorsements for hand blenders, yet I had a Braun hand blender that I got second-hand. It just didn't do the trick. When I blend a soup, I like it to be pureed, and I need to puree it in the regular blender for about 5 minutes. I tried pureeing soup in the pot, and it barely mixed it up. I can see using it for whipped cream (if we could have that), or mixing eggs, or light blending but it just doesn't hold a candle to a good old regular blender. Am I missing something, or did I just have a dud hand blender. I can't see myself standing there squeezing the trigger on one of these things for 5 minutes waiting for my soup to puree. Not being contrary, just wondering :-). My dream appliance would be a commercial grade blender that could crush ice and make a " Slurpee " type drink, or not start smoking when I blend squash to make my squash squares. My favourites right now are a lemon reamer (wood) and an apple slicer/corer. Bought 15 pounds of organic apples a few weeks ago and they were gone in 10 days (5 people in our family). Take care. We used to break a blender about once a month until we found the Vitamix. We have been very pleased with it. The Vitamix is an awesome machine and used by professionals, juice bars and raw food restaurants. Carol F.
