Hello all. I have been reading for weeks trying to gather as much

info as possible. I have a 7yo son who has autism and is high

functioning. At the recommendation of his Dr. we are trying the SCD

diet because Nicky's (my son) diet is really poor and filled mostly

with carbs.

I have read BTVC and lots of the links and posts and am a little

confused.

Question 1. from reading I got the impression the intro diet is for

people who have been GFCF and have had diahrea problems. Is that

correct or is it more to help first starve what shouldn't be in the

gut so healing will take place most efficiently?

Nicky has always been more constipated or going every 3 to 4 days

but still very soft. I started the diet but did not really follow

intro and made other recipes that I could sub for old foods. Am I

wrong or prolonging the healing the gut by doing that?

Tests recently came back with very high yeast issues.

I am doing this to try to have some foods in there because he is

such a big macaroni, pizza, bread, cereal eater.

I am trying to make sure I do as much while school is out till

1/3/06 so that I have die off and transitioning issues at home

before school starts up.

2. Any suggestions on packed lunches for school? I still don't

know how I will pull this off.

I know some of these questions may seem elementary, but I want to do

make sure I'm not jumping the gun so to speak and in the meantime

not allowing him to heal. Please any and all info will be

appreciated. Sorry so long.
