Guest guest
Well Gang, I heard from my appeal today. I had expected a denial and was emotionally ready for it. We are self-insured at the hospital that I work at and weight loss surgery is not a covered benefit. What did surprise me and toally Pi** me off is that they said they researched the procedure and that it is " too Risky " . I haven't gotten my official letter in the mail, yet, but my good friend at work was the bearer of the bad news. She had to send me the letter under her name. I just don't get it. They had everything both letter's from Dr. R., my PCP referrel, and my info. on the costs. You'd think a hospital corporation would be more in tune to the facts. Sorry for being long winded, I needed to vent. The past 24 hrs have been awful. We coded (he stopped breathing) the baby of one of the nurses who works with me last night at work. It was awful. He was stabilized enough to be shipped to NC Baptist hospital by AirCare (helicopter), but it was just a terrible experience. ALL PRAYERS NEEDED ~~ His name is Juston and he is only 9 months old. Thanks Guys, It's a good thing I gave up drinking several years ago, or I'd go find a marguarita the size of a bath tub and crawl in. (boy can you image the size of the salt shaker?!? Anyway, gonna go drown my sorrows in a frozen Coke, instead and snuggle my little angel. Yours in Christ's Love, Donna B.
