Guest guest
Belinda, Sometimes people call me Ray as my email display name has my first name " " on it. I know it is confusing, but I do consulting and need my first name for paychecks. Ray is a different person on the list. We also have a couple of " Bill's " on the list now also. When people leave off all of the message they are responding to, it makes for some confusion also. Take care, Bill Werre ----------------------------------- belnorest wrote: > Ray, > Please don't get me wrong but are you feeling ok? I believe you had > said something about going to the ER. Guest guest
Barbara, I knew you were not living where you do , on a SS pension ) And driving that motorhome is not cheap either ) Take care, Bill Werre ---------------------------------------------------------- kmcrae@... wrote: > : > Lest my note to Lou led you to believe that I live on SS alone, I do > want you to know that as a retired Judge, Ken received a pension of 75% of a > sitting Judge's salary, and as his widow, I receive half of that. Guest guest
Dear Bill: I wish it were a motor home, but it is a 1986 Suburban pulling a 1970 trailer. When Ken retired, we considered what we wanted and decided we liked the old trailer so much that we would just replace our old Suburban with a new one and keep the old trailer. Now the new Suburban is old and the trailer is even older. I always said that I would buy a small motor home when Ken died, but so far that has not happened. Each time I hitch up the old rig, I pray it will make just one more trip. My college roommate has gone with me the last couple of times, and she is game for the Yosemite trip. The thing is that the Suburban can break down in the most inconvenient places, but it was just as likely to do it when it was new as now. In fact I think it did it more when it was new. Vera and I do live a little more than a half hour from the airport, but we should be able to meet you for lunch on your way back from Australia. Let us know the specifics, and we will try to be there. Any other Southern Californians want to join us? About where I live. I do know that Newport Beach has become one of the highest priced places to live in the country, but when Ken and I bought this place 42 years ago this month, we paid only $22500 for it. It has turned out to be the best investment we ever made, but Ken's parents really hit the jackpot when they bought a bayfront home on Balboa Island in 1945 for $12000. I guess Real Estate in the right location really is the best investment. Hoping to meet you soon, Barbara
