depending on how the shoe is made.. I also now own heels.. something I hadnt

I went through the jewelry/shoe thing when I was 50 to 100 pounds overweight.

Once I got past 100 pounds overweight I just gave up on everything. I lived

in black stretch pants, oversized tops and athletic shoes for years. Even

though I had a lot of expensive jewelry I never wore it cause it made me get

this image of Petunia Pig in her pearls with lots of lipstick. This summer

I've got lots of interest in clothing and such again. My long hair is gone

cause most of it fell out. Got so many compliments on the short hair I guess

I'll keep it. The long fake nails are gone cause post op my nailbeds got so

thin they hurt all the time, now I no longer feel the need for big fake

nails. I've started wearing jewelry again and getting " fixed up. " Due to

excess weight, drooping belly and kneeknocker breasts I'm still wearing black

stretch leggings and oversized sweaters, but in smaller sizes. I am

completely clueless about clothing styles and spend a fair amount of time

looking at catalogs trying to figure out what I like now. 10 years ago I was

wearing pantyhose and heels, Pendleton blazers and skirts...classic kind of

things. It seems that the Casual Dress revolution has changed everything and

I feel as if I need lessons....or Granimals in order to shop for clothes now.

I tried to let this whole " shoe " thing go by but just couldn't do it -- the

first " bones " I saw post op were in my feet -- not hardly a couple of

months, put my feet on the coffee table one day and BAM -- there were bones

in my feet!!! I too lost some shoe size, threw out the old and now own more

shoes than cloths to go with them. My toe nails are always painted and I

love strapy sandals, pumps, great boots, lace shoes, satin shoes, Italian

leather -- mmmm shoes.... almost as much as sex (shhhhh....) *giggles*

Now, last week we went to dinner and I wore my first pair of real slacks

(fully lined in pale pink) an ivory lace blouse and ivory satin shoes and I

did NOT have a purse at ALL!!! WHAT'S up with that???

Guess who's going shopping this morning for purses??? I have an ugly white

one that's seen one too many summers and an equally ugly black one and

that's it!!! Ok, I can't go bonkers over purses but I should have a nice

looking couple to match all the great shoes that go on my now " normal " sized

feet right?

Ok... to get this on topic a little bit.... when I was growing up one of my

brothers favorite 'name calling' was " Big Foot " (after the monster) bestowed

upon me only after " Thunder Thighs " being their favorite *sigh* well.. no

more BIG FOOT for me... while my feet are still long all those WIDE shoes

are gone for good! Nails are painted and I even " gift " myself a pedicure

when I'm feeling down or just like I should " do " something for me.

hugz,

::sigh:: I still have extraordinarly wide feet, didn't lose a thing there,

and can't wear really nice shoes. Shoe shopping is still an ordeal - trying

to find shoes that fit across the wide part of my foot without being too big

in the heel....thank God for my birkenstocks. Now if I can just find a pair

that look good with a suit!

  • 2 years later...

I don't think it's too uncommon for the feet to be extra wide. Everett is

wearing a normal 3 though. on the other hand, heck, what ever I can get

his foot in to.

o.k. new topic...or a branch off of it. s feet are a 2w and even

those don't fit well, too big. wide enough, but too long. Is this

normal for clubbed feet? He is 14 months old.

Connor is nearly 20 months and is wearing a 4 G/H in shoe size which is the

first size shoe that they make (here in the UK) and a size 3 in the FAB

(they are big). He has small fat feet. Neither me or his dad have big feet

so who knows if he would have ever had big feet??
