I asked my daugters surgeon if he wasnt really a pediatrician.... he just has the kind of personality totally unlike any other surgeons I have dealt with i the past. I like him very much, he soft spoke and explains everything to us. wendy Re: plates??? I am sure it isn't anything you did. They might just kinda feel like their job is done with you now and if they both have gotten paid already they may have nothing to really work for anymore - although I would think they would like referrals from you and I don't think it sounds like you will refer anyone to them or at least warn them out how they act after surgery is over. But I am so glad my guys aren't that way. I think I could call them this afternoon -- know I could -- with a question unrelated to my case with them, but with which I need help, and they'd tell me as much as they could and do anything they could to help. (Have done, actually, and they have come through with flying colors.) And that's such a great relationship to have with a doc. I only have sharp pain when I sniff in or press on the spot.. otherwise it's more of an annoying pain (like when I talk or move my lips, or sneeze etc.). I would be very concerned if my pain level was high enough that I wanted to cry (like you) or I was in pain more consistantly. My doc said that the stitches should dissolve over the next 3 months (I'm only 3 wks post-op now). Obviously, as the stitches dissolve the irritation should subside - If it doesn't, you better believe I'll be back in his office. I did some historical reading and I believe you had your surgery at the beginning of Oct. I'd say if you're still in this much pain almost 3 months post-op that it's definitely worth investigating further.
