Guest guest Posted April 12, 2002 Report Share Posted April 12, 2002 It doesn't take much at this point any more. After all the testing and the depletion of fluids, he is just very worn down. He probably isn't getting nearly as much liquid as he needs at this point either. It was so hard to get liquid down Elmer those last several months. I think it took every bit of concentration he had to just swallow it. , my thoughts and prayers are with you. Have you thought about contacting Hospice? They may be a big comfort to you and to Warren right now. It would give you extra support and they may be able to help ease the burden right now for Warren. If the mini strokes are coming that often, it might not take much for him to have 1 slightly bigger one. That's pretty much what Elmer did. One minute he was joking with the girls about the ball game and 30 minutes later when they went to check on him, he was silent. He made it 24 hours after that. , take care of yourself.
