I think whey classifies as dairy. It's part of milk, I believe. Anyway, maybe someone on this list can give u a more definitive answer. Anyone?? Guest guest
Actually, to be more precise... Any minerals taken together, compete in the system for digestion and absorbtion.. that is why is NOT recommended to take your mineral supplements at the same time. I space mine to get proper absorbtion. ///Bob RNY - 7/13/79 23yrs. and counting Re: iron w/protein shakes > > > << I mix my protein with water and the surgeon said it was ok to take the > > iron and vit c with protein too.. just to wait two hours before taking > other > > vites or meds afterwards. >> > > ----------------------------- > > Ummm, , I think I read that the iron shouldn't be taken any closer > than 2 hours to protein shake, at least if they're whey protein, bcuz > shouldn't take iron and dairy together. Guest guest
And iron doesn't like much of anybody, but vit C. However, some irons can be taken with rather benign foods. Since we don't have stomach acid, to speak of, there's no point in taking it on " empty " , and it hurts most of us anyway. m Re: iron w/protein shakes > > > << I mix my protein with water and the surgeon said it was ok to take the > > iron and vit c with protein too.. just to wait two hours before taking > other > > vites or meds afterwards. >> > > ----------------------------- > > Ummm, , I think I read that the iron shouldn't be taken any closer > than 2 hours to protein shake, at least if they're whey protein, bcuz > shouldn't take iron and dairy together.
